Journey to the West is one of the four most cherished classics of Chinese literature. It was written by the Ming Dynasty novelist Wu Cheng’en in XXVI century. The novel has everything your teens and preteens will love: adventure, action, humor, and inspiring lessons about perfecting one’s character. The beloved and somewhat mischievous character of Monkey King (also known as Sun Wukong) is one of the main characters of this novel.
I wanted to include the book in my kids curriculum but the lowest price I could find for the unabridged translation was $120 (4 volumes, used books). So I opted out for this free online version and wanted to share it with you.
