Let’s try some meatballs today. Specifically Mediterranean style meatballs. These are an amazing addition to your meal. With these it’s really the more the merrier!
You will need:
1 pound ground beef
¼ of a cabbage
½ onion 2 cloves garlic
1 carrot grated (course or fine)
1 egg
some dill or parsley
Salt
pepper
Cardamom
Cumin
Directions:
Chop up the dill and place into a large bowl. Coarsely grate the cabbage and cut up the onion and put it into the bowl. Add the grated carrot: finely grate the garlic, and lastly place the drained beef into the bowl.
To spice it up:
Add the salt to your taste and the pepper. Be careful with the cardamom and cumin make sure not to add too much, because then it’ll be too spicy. Mix with your hands until evenly mixed.
To fry:
Have the skillet on a medium heat and form the meatballs. Place them on the skillet then cover. Fry till the top is not red then flip over. Try to fry them on the sides but its optional. It usually tastes better when crispy.
Chef’s thoughts:
Personally I like the texture, it is very varied given crunch of the carrot (which by the way, is better when finely grated) and the juiciness of the beef. You know usually beef is tough, but here, the vegetables soften the beef making it juicy, but you can still taste the vegetables in the beef.
